We began our Spirit Week with prepping apples into slices and pickles into chunks. There was a lot of excitement around our dance party and treats! Students enjoyed homemade dill pickle dip, potato chips, hummus, guacamole and salsa and corn chips, AND a chocolate fondue!! Lots of dancing to holiday songs ensued and everyone had much needed outdoor time to burn off the extra energy.
Monday afternoon many wrapped up their crafts for Secret Santa and played games during their self appointed free period.
Tuesday morning all students enjoyed their Christmas themed escape rooms and did a great job solving their puzzles!!
Tuesday afternoon we popped some of our popping corn from our garden this year!! We planted popping corn in the spring and our result was yummy pop corn!! Most students enjoyed popcorn with the movie (Home Alone), while others enjoyed while crafting and spending time together.
Wednesday we collectively celebrated Winter Solstice with singing and drumming, then moved on to feast preparations and organizing. Everyone enjoyed mashed potatoes, meatballs, beanballs, candied roasted carrots and vegan ceasar salad. All of our options were curated by the students and all diets were included in the day.
This week wrapped up an amazing 4 months of learning together and I look forward to welcoming everyone back in January.
As a special gift for parents, Seedlings & Saplings practiced drumming and singing 4 different songs that we recorded just for you. Those recordings are available on the resource page that can be accessed on the header of our school app:
Clicking the "forms" button will take you to the resource page on our website, where when you scroll down you will see Seedling & Sapling Downloads. All 4 songs are there for families to download.
I am so proud of this crew this year, my heart is very full!! Have a safe and happy holiday season in all your personal and community celebrations!!!
